OK SO TURNS OUT I DID NOT RAMBLE ABOUT FIC lol i just spent most of the night going down a niall/conor rabbithole to see if i could get behind this as an unrequited ship where niall has a huuuuuuuge embarrassing crush and conor... has a serious long-term girlfriend. basically i just want all of the bi niall sexuality crisis feelings where he's spent several years being like "aha i mean i like girls obviously. occasionally i have thoughts about various guys, but like, in passing, which is normal. sometimes i write heartbreak albums about my best friend harry going off on a yacht with a kardashian and never calling me again but it's like, cool. sometimes i also get weirdly flustered and blurt out i love you to my other best friend louis when it's late at night and we're both a little stoned and he doesn't call me for a few days after but then we pick right back up again and never mention it again. these are totally normal things that happen to all guys." and then maybe john bird says something accidentally that reveals that everyone on the entire tour (and also everyone in the ENTIRE WORLD) knows about niall's GIGANTIC EMBARRASSING CRUSH on conor, which niall had not even REALIZED was a gigantic embarrassing crush until it was pointed out to him, and now he is so embarrassed he just wants to lie facedown on the floor until the ground swallows him up and he never has to see any of his bandmates again.

i can't tell most of niall's band members apart and i definitely couldn't pick connor out of the lineup, but i LOVE this concept and making niall suffer. just a totally normal dude, being totally normal, realizing he's made a Big Mistake and dying about it. that is exactly my cup of tea. i don't even know if he needs to end up with someone in this verse. niall + his shame is my otp.

oh my god ok i literally cannot tell any of niall's bandmates apart either and do not care to, or DID NOT, UNTIL CONOR, not because conor is more worthy but because niall has a GINORMOUS AND EMBARRASSING CRUSH ON HIM which he is busy PERFORMING ON SOCIAL MEDIA because he DOES NOT KNOW and NOBODY HAS TOLD HIM YET HOW OBVIOUS IT IS!!!!!!!! if you have not watched the chad/tucker instagram stories where niall just desperately beats an inside joke to death because he WANTS TO BOND WITH HIS CRUSH then pls do!!!! or if not just trust me, niall has a huge embarrassing crush and he has not connected the dots yet but literally everyone else watching has. TO ME THE BEST PART IS that conor is like this totally unremarkable, not that cute, ordinary irish dude, who is perhaps remarkable only bc he is a Real Musician who is doing his graduate degree in violin performance (and i could see niall being slightly awed and impressed by that??). but lmao like niall has literally just emerged from like a seven-year slightly-but-not-really-requited crush on HARRY STYLES, who is a weirdo in a million ways but is also HARRY STYLES, a sex demon, who should not be allowed to have that face or that level of sex appeal. and then immediately after he has barely recovered from that particular crush, he goes and develops a HUUUUUUUUUGE embarrassing second crush on a boy who is like, essentially his next door neighbor, the nice and completely unremarkable kid who lives down the street who your mom is always trying to set you up with.

i meant to reply to this post likeeeeee ages ago? so better late than never, but i love every damn word of this.

I remember before I watched the video on tumblr that someone put the whole saga in, i saw ppl commenting on flirting and i was like, yeah cool, BUT LIKE.... I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW MUCH IT WAS. THERE WAS ONE WHERE NIALL CALLED HIM BEAUTIFUL???? IT'S EMBARRASSING. IT'S GONE ON TOO LONG AND NIALL LITERALLY CAN'T HELP HIMSELF AND NOW HE'S BROUGHT IT ON STAGE TOO.

I live for your fic ramblings TBH ! There is something so wholesome about this chad/tucker concept that niall keeps badgering on about. Is he posting these to prove to harry that he's having a grand ol' time on tour and has a new buddy to practice his accents with??? Or is niall just that dense where he doesn't even realize he's got a enormous crush on his bandmate and is posting the evidence to his MILLIONS of followers???????? Either way im here for it!

and once he realizes, it connects directly to my very favorite niall and the potatoes theme, which is niall being acutely, painfully aware of the power dynamic and not wanting to make the object of his crush uncomfortable or put any pressure on him just because niall is the multimillionaire boss and conor was literally posting a gofundme for his grad school tuition eight months ago (yes, this is a literal true fact)!!!!!!
