OK SO TURNS OUT I DID NOT RAMBLE ABOUT FIC lol i just spent most of the night going down a niall/conor rabbithole to see if i could get behind this as an unrequited ship where niall has a huuuuuuuge embarrassing crush and conor... has a serious long-term girlfriend. basically i just want all of the bi niall sexuality crisis feelings where he's spent several years being like "aha i mean i like girls obviously. occasionally i have thoughts about various guys, but like, in passing, which is normal. sometimes i write heartbreak albums about my best friend harry going off on a yacht with a kardashian and never calling me again but it's like, cool. sometimes i also get weirdly flustered and blurt out i love you to my other best friend louis when it's late at night and we're both a little stoned and he doesn't call me for a few days after but then we pick right back up again and never mention it again. these are totally normal things that happen to all guys." and then maybe john bird says something accidentally that reveals that everyone on the entire tour (and also everyone in the ENTIRE WORLD) knows about niall's GIGANTIC EMBARRASSING CRUSH on conor, which niall had not even REALIZED was a gigantic embarrassing crush until it was pointed out to him, and now he is so embarrassed he just wants to lie facedown on the floor until the ground swallows him up and he never has to see any of his bandmates again.
